日帰り！「八丈島」食べ歩き日記 No.8
東京電力のTEPCO八丈島地熱館の近くにある、地熱を活用した温室兼売店に立ち寄りました
そこは熱帯植物の展示即売に加え、八丈島の特産物が売られています。菊さんは目の前で絞って出してくれる「１００％グァバジュース」と「八丈島中之郷温泉プリン」を食しました
まず、「１００％のグァバジュース」ですが、とても親切な女店員の菊池さん（菊さんと同じ菊池です
）が注文を受けてからグァバの実をジューサーでジュースにしてくれます！ここで驚いたのがグァバの種の硬さです！ジュースの中に粉砕された種が入りますが、たまに約３ミリ大の破片が入っていて噛んでしまうと小石かと間違えるくらい。。。聴くところによるとグァバの種ってそれくらい硬いものなんだそうです
味については、１００％ということもあって缶ジュースとは異なり酸っぱいです。しかし、香りが強く惹かれます〜！続いては「八丈島中之郷温泉プリン」です。これは地元の八丈島牛乳と烏骨鶏（うこっけい）の卵を使ったなんとも高級なプリンです！しかし、手作り感バリバリで、プリンに気泡が入ってました
ちょっと硬めで、茶碗蒸しみたい・・・。TEPCO八丈島地熱館
